Not Guilty ~ Client was found Not Guilty of Murder after a 4 Day Trial in Hinds County Circuit Court. Khalaf & Nguyen vigorously defended an innocent man who was indicted on murder. The jury returned a verdict of Not Guilty.Non-Adjudication a Felony 6-count Medicaid/Medicare Fraud Indictment in which the Attorney General's office prosecuted. Client was facing up to 30-years in prison. Khalaf & Nguyen fought hard for the client and all Felony 6-counts were later dismissed.No Billed ~ Client was charged with Manslaughter in Pike County and Khalaf & Nguyen fought hard at a Pre-liminary Hearing. The Grand Jury no billed the Manslaughter charge.Not Guilty ~ Client was found Not Guilty after a trial in Municipal Court on 2 counts of Simple Assault. Khalaf & Nguyen, on cross examination, was able to get the alleged victim to confess that the allegations were not true. The Judge found the client Not Guilty after a half-day trial.Not Guilty after a 2-day Trial - Client was charged with 2 counts of Simple Assault in youth court and facing up to 1-year in the youth detention center. Khalaf & Nguyen conducted a 2-day trial before a judge. After a tough trial, the judge found the client Not-Guilty.Dismissed ~ Malicious Mischief Charge was Dismissed Client was indicted on one count of Felony Controlled Substance in DeSoto County Circuit Court. Khalaf & Nguyen fought hard for the client, who served very minimal incarceration time.Khalaf & Nguyen represented a client on a half-day trial in the lower court on the charges of Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest; however, the client's charge of Simple Assault/Domestic Violence was Dismissed because of Khalaf & Nguyen poking holes in the Government's case. The client's convictions were later expunged.Non-Adjudication on a DUI charge in Hinds County Court after Khalaf & Nguyen conducted a trial at the lower court.Case Dismissed after an adjudication hearing/disposition hearing in Youth Court in which parent was accused of physical abuse. Khalaf & Nguyen fought hard to show that the Government's case was weak and the evidence was lacking. The case was ultimately dismissed. The client was never indicted by a grand jury.Case dismissed in County Court after client was convicted in Justice court and sentenced to jail. Khalaf & Nguyen was retained on the case after the client represented herself at Justice Court. Khalaf& Nguyen was able to get the district attorney to reduce the felony to a misdemeanor child abuse with a suspended jail sentence.client indicted on felony aggravated assault and facing upwards of 20 years in prison. Khalaf & Nguyen fought hard for the client, who ended up with a sentence of credit for time served with no additional prison sentence. client went home instead of going to prison.client indicted for felony conspiracy, felony auto theft, and felony strong arm robbery. client was facing the rest of her life in prison. Khalaf & Nguyen went to work going through discovery and investigating the case. ultimately, Khalaf & Nguyen was able to negotiate a plea for the client to plea only to felony simple robbery with a suspended jail sentence and the remaining felonies were dismissed. Client was able to go home.client indicted for felony possession of cannabis, a schedule I controlled substance. client was facing a prison sentence, but Khalaf & Nguyen was able to work on the case and get the district attorney to offer pre-trial intervention. client avoided going to prison, successfully completed pre-trial intervention, and did not have a felony conviction on his record.client arrested and charged with DUI 1st. Khalaf & Nguyen advocated for the client, and the state prosecutor did not prosecute the case.client charged with 3 counts of simple assault. Khalaf & Nguyen was able to get two of the charges dismissed. client was found guilty on the third charge of simple assault at justice court. Khalaf & Nguyen appealed to circuit court, and the charge was dismissed by the prosecutor. Khalaf & Nguyen went to bat for the client and was able to get all three counts of simple assault dismissed.client was indicted on felony possession of methamphetamine, a schedule ii controlled substance. client was also charged with possession of paraphernalia, expired tag, and no insurance in municipal court. Khalaf & Nguyen was able to get the client enrolled in pre-trial intervention regarding the felony. client avoided prison, completed pre-trial intervention, and did not have a felony conviction. Khalaf & Nguyen was able to get two of the misdemeanors dismissed in municipal court.felony dismissed ~ client arrested and charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, a schedule ii controlled substance. Khalaf & Nguyen fought hard soon after the arrest, and the state prosecutor agreed not to proceed with the felony. client was also charged with a misdemeanor possession of paraphernalia. Khalaf & Nguyen filed an interlocutory appeal with the Mississippi Supreme Court regarding double jeopardy. The Mississippi Supreme Court disagreed and ruled that it was not double jeopardy. district attorney eventually dismissed the felony case.client indicted in state court for felony armed robbery and convicted felon in possession of a firearm. Client had recently been convicted of a felony in federal court; therefore, Khalaf & Nguyen worked out a plea to run concurrent the state felony sentence of armed robbery with the federal conviction. furthermore, the district attorney dismissed the indictment of convicted felon in possession of a firearm.felony nolle prosequi ~ client indicted for felony sexual battery and faced a 30 year prison sentence. Khalaf & Nguyen dug into the case and discovered crucial evidence which led to the district attorney having no choice but to nolle prosequi the case, which means the district attorney will no longer prosecute the case.dui dismissed ~ client charged with DUI. Khalaf & Nguyen represented the client, and the state prosecutor did not prosecute the case, and the case was dismissed.client accused with sexually assaulting his own child. Khalaf & Nguyen represented client, investigated, and fought hard for the client because the charge was frivolous. The state prosecutor found that the allegations were unfounded and dismissed the case. client charged with dui 1st, possession of marijuana, and speeding. Khalaf & Nguyen was able to get the possession of marijuana and the speeding dismissed. Khalaf & Nguyen was able to get the client enrolled in pre-trial intervention, avoid prison, and avoid a felony conviction.client arrested and charged with dui 1st. Khalaf & Nguyen negotiated a plea for client to enroll into the non-adjudication program. upon completion of the program, client had no conviction.felony and misdemeanors dismissed ~ client arrested and charged with felony possession of controlled substance, misdemeanor charge of possession of paraphernalia, and misdemeanor charge of public intoxication. Khalaf & Nguyen was able to get the state prosecutor to agree to the non-adjudication program. upon completion of the program, client's dui 1st was dismissed.client was arrested and charged with simple assault/domestic violence. Khalaf & Nguyen was able to get the charge dismissed.
